Leslie Maxie is a 1988 US Olympian, former Jr. World record holder in the 400 hurdles, a record that stood for 30+ years and a 7-time All-American at the University of Southern California. Many years ago, Maxie transitioned her passion for achievement to the world of media. In addition to being the founder of Maxie Media Group, Leslie inspires others by sharing her insights on success, embracing transition, work life balance, and figuring out “What’s next?” Leslie connects with her audiences wherever they may be in their journey, as she is committed to sowing seeds of encouragement and empowerment for all.

After graduating from USC with a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Maxie ventured out into the world determined and focused and soon found she was thriving in sports media. Internationally known as an athlete and dynamic speaker she quickly established herself as one of a select few Olympians who has studio anchored, reported, hosted, and executive produced on air broadcasts having developed television projects for ESPN, CBS, NBC, Fox Sports Net, among others. She has interviewed some of the biggest names in entertainment and sports: Brad Pitt, Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Lance Armstrong, Venus and Serena Williams, Barry Bonds, Jeff Gordon and Mike Tyson among others while covering some of the world’s premier sporting events; Super Bowl, World Series, Final Four, Tour de France & the U.S. Open.

Over the last decade, Maxie has implemented a strategic move from broadcaster to media maven as principal/Owner of Maxie Media Group (MMG). Leslie has truly blossomed; utilizing her real-world experience as an international communications executive for Red Bull GmbH, PR strategist, media activation/event innovator for NASCAR, athlete/executive trainer, crisis communicator for the NY Jets, MLB and Miss New Jersey Pageant to build a dynamic business; designing strategic campaigns to help Fortune 500 businesses and individual influencers identify and achieve their media goals.

Of MMG‘s world-renown achievements, the execution of the NASCAR event resulting in the lighting the Empire State Building in NASCAR Champion, Jimmie Johnson’s team colors has been called, “The ultimate large scale branding opportunity…” Huffington Report 11/26/09. Additionally, MMG provides media services to BET Networks, Toyota Motor Corp, several Fortune 500 © executives and three professional sports teams. In 2014 Leslie was handpicked from a competitive pool of 32 candidates as a 2014 Super Bowl Owner Liaison team member for The Washington Redskins.

More than being a media powerhouse, Leslie is most proud of her role as mom to daughter Andrea (23) and son Nicholas (21) and bride to Phillip Dowdell.
