BET Experience Brand Building Initiatives
BET Awards is the gold standard of award shows, creating an iconic “moment” that has left audiences wanting more every year since its inception. The year before they launched the preeminent music festival, BET Experience, the president of media sales for Viacom engaged Maxie Media Group to ideate, plan, and execute a once-in-a-lifetime experience for their multi-million dollar partners: Coke, Toyota, P&G, and Nissan. Executives were treated to an experiential weekend a year before the actual BETX launched. MMG implemented this strategy so executives from these brands would have such a singular experience that they would go back to their boardrooms and lobby for the budget BET Experience required to launch this triumphant world-class initiative. As a result, MMG led VIP Partner tentpole initiative engagement for BET Ad Sales for seven years.
Amy Polumbo Miss New Jersey - Crisis Communications
Amy Polumbo found herself in a brutal and embarrassing situation. She’d won the coveted crown of Miss New Jersey on her first attempt. Beautiful, talented, and well-spoken, Amy was believed to be a contender at the Miss America pageant. Her world was shaken when both she and the New Jersey Pageant Association received anonymous blackmail and extortion letters associated with private photos that had been leaked. Amy reached out to attorney Anthony Russo, who retained Maxie Media Group to build the roadmap to navigate a media nightmare. With its effective crisis management, MMG created a strategy for Amy’s high-stakes Today Show interview that informed the balance of her successful media campaign. MMG adeptly led Amy through her crisis, allowing her to retain her dignity and crown.
